perforated stainless sheets

Anyone wanting any odd pieces of perforated stainless sheet get yourselves down to your local Wilkinsons. They've got bbq sheets in there, 30x28cm, without putting calipers on it I'm guessing about 0.6mm thick, punched with about 3mm dia holes, normal price £2 each but they're clearing them out at 50p each!
I've just cleared the shelf in my local one, bought the last 15 pieces .

I bet you're fitting an exhaust stack on the crewcab and you need the perf plate as a heatshield

Hehe, not sure about blinged up exhausts Stuart, I like to see pickups with sports bars and A bars but not much else.
The reason I needed some was that Mrs W rang me to say she had rats in her stable and did I have any mesh to block a drainage hole up with, went in to buy a piece and came away with 10, texted gavuk to see if he wanted any then went back in and emptied the shelf .

What you want is some sharp bits of metal Woz... when the rat comes up its hole, it will stab itself on said sharp bit rested in the hole....

Or atleast so some muppett suggested to me once. The thing is, he was being serious

Hehe, 'the muppet' obviously underestimated rats, did he really think they're that stupid?
She's got a stone wedged in the hole at the mo but she's still convinced they're getting past it, I don't reckon they are, I reckon they're getting in somewhere else but I'll bung a bit of mesh in there anyway, just to keep her happy .
She said she's been in there before and watched them moving under the straw!

May I suggest a bucket of appropriately named stuff called Slaymore for the rodents?! Much easier than faffing around trying to keep em out!

Oh and call me sceptical but are those sheets about 2% Cr?! Seems a bit too cheap to me...

Dunno what composition they are Archie, just called 'stainless bbq sheets' normal price is 2 quid so they're pretty cheap before the 75% reduction. Slaymore eh? Sounds pretty nasty . Mrs W wouldn't like the idea of killing them, she just wants to keep them out .

Rusty, she hates snakes as much as she hates rats so the python's out of the question.

I'm afraid you won't keep them out very easily. Tell Mrs W that a spot of internal bleeding isn't such a bad way to go!

Nasty Nasty bloady things ratts, weils desase is just one reason why I hate the ba**teds, HSE now recomends the use of disinfectant wipes when working on overwinter harvesting machinary one of the few bits of advice I follow.......

Slaymore, Drat, or Neuroxa is all good stuff, tho the beastys become resistant to the stuff, ones walfarine based I think its the slaymore thats not.....

OK to use if you've not got domestic pets about, but not a good idea if you have, the electric traps arnt a bad idea nor are the giant sprung Rat traps..

Archie's right you wont keep em out there quite happily kn-ore through wood, sell con block, or even concrete..... seriously mate get em killed otherwise your be overrun by the hate full disease ridden nastys......

A bloke in the know once told me the only thing that will really slow them down is concrete with broken glass mixed in. This was while looking down at the hole one had coome through, half and half a 1/2 thick iron manhole cover and its concrete setting.

Wozz, what you want is stoats.

3 yrs ago we had a plague of rats tried all sorts - traps, shooting even POISON ( NEVER AGAIN, the local barn owls also got poisoned, so I’m with Mrs Wozz on that ). Then the stoats moved in, cleared the rats in 2 wks, if you think rats are nasty; see stoats @ work, just wish they’d clear the b*****d rabbits.

PS. We got new barn owls this yr.

BTW, the sheets are magnetic and they're actually only 0.35mm thick. A bit on the thin side but bent round the drain hole nicely so swmbo is happy (for now) .

Ferrets? Or block up all the rat holes you can find bar a couple and shove a chainsaw exhaust down one. Then wait by the other with any of (but not limited to) terriers, shotgun or baseball bat. It all depends how bloodthirsty you happen to be feeling! I reckon by the time you've had them for a bit swmbo will be wielding the golf clubs in person!!!
