I've made the decision that feasibly 2K isn't an option for me right now. Firstly I can't borrow a mask (and they're expensive to buy) secondly, apart from buying a compressor and gun I've no experience in using these tools and thirdly I don't have a safe area to spray safely without risking others health.
I'm toying with the idea of perhaps doing the prep work and spraying aerosol primer myself. This would be for a final application of 2K direct gloss by the local bodyshop. With this in mind can anyone give some advice on how to prepare a surface properly for good and lasting results? (I've removed all primer and paint and down to the bare surface) Also, and if this is so it will rule this option out, does the primer have to be 2K for 2K direct gloss on top?
Lastly, and this is dependent on the answer to the question above, I'm considering using aerosol cellulose. I know it has it's draw backs such as requiring regular polishing and fading with U.V. Although the car doesn't cover many miles per year, lives under a cover and regular polishing wouldn't be a problem.
