NöODs beads on SS for deliberation..

as requested pics of beads on 2mm SS first two beads (upper on pics ) without filler rod set at 55amps 1.6 electrode gas at 5..
Lower two beads with 1.6 mm rod dipped gas same electrode amps set at 60amps .. The last pic shows the reverse side of SS..

Cant believe its from the same tig as the ones you have shown before.
Doesnt seem to be any gas issues, or other at all, there.
Very small piece, beads close and you still have some colors in it. Well done mate.

Makes mw wonder if you have been trying on cast iron or some dirty steel before

Same machine mTe .. The steel I use is always new purchased from Suffolk Steel..
Was told by e mail a short while ago my esab only has 1 yrs warranty and therefore is out.. Yet on esab website it says 3 yrs?

It must be me going wrong then when I try to make joints in steel then... Unless there was a hole in that pipe all Long and I've only just found it..

That's a new hose crimped on.. Richard asked me to run a couple of beads on ss without rod when I got it fixed ... ( replaced by me not at any workshop ) haven't felt up to it till now tbh .. X

If you just move to 2mm plain steel with the very same settings what happens then?
Try both your ss rod and mild steel.

On edit, didnt see that you fixed your hose. That might be the big thing...

Yep ... I will do that in the morning when I get home mTe .. Beads on plain steel with two diff rods.. Will post on Forum ASAP ..

Do a run on ss first to verify repeatability of what you achieved today.

Noods those ss autogenous runs look clean mate. Linish them off inc all the heat tint and do it again and again. If results remain consistent your buddy is top notch. If you can't get the results on steel then that's a different problem and you need to not pick on that little yellow box any more.

As harsh as it sounds mate it's yours which I'm sure you already know lol. You should of found that long ago when people were asking if you had a leak. 25 bottles of gas !!! Expensive leak.
Anyhooooo. We ain't out of the water yet keep trying her out keep posting results.

UPDATE... Bet your all exited..well don't be.. Ran some beads as requested, first on SS .. Results were very much the same as yesterday... ( bearing in mind just finished a 12 HR night shift, that's my excuse and I'm gonna stick to it)

Autogenous in first pic 60 amps on cleaned up but new steel.. Other settings as yesterday..

Autogenous again in 2nd pic below..

3rd pic down with er7092 Sif 1.6 filler rod not so good for some strange reason in my view ...

Last pic below with 1.6 difference rod.. Don't have any ss rod at mo..

Everything is exactly how it came out of the fryer, eg no cleaning up.. Steel was new stock and buffed till shiney before welds..

I do Muchly so seem to have an issue with wobblyness esp when using filler rod.. Could be old age I guess or that things are not very steady or uniform here on planet NóòDLe....
