Tools beget tools

It is slippery slope, years ago I wanted to be a woodworker so bought a saw,before you know it I needed a chisel etc etc,then a wood lathe and tools for that etc etc ,then a bandsaw ,a table saw, a planer,a router x3.It goes on,
Now in the first year of retirement I go and buy a metal lathe and find myself at the top of another slippery slope, it's a case of if I had one of those I could make one of these, what's wrong with me how did I get this disease?
I use tools now to make more tools to make things that are cheaper to buy ready made,I think I have got it bad,
I am not alone am I ?

I thought along those lines today after I spent a tenner on a nice box full of shiny multi headed bits and ratchet handle.

Basically bought because it had some of those fancy head shapes that some washing machine manufacturers use on their screws to stop you fiddling.

Later in the afternoon I remembered I had bought a similar set at a tool fair 8 years ago and still not used.

Thats called agezimers disease. But the Rosiante, there is no help for you, its not a disease you have, but a tool fetish, its an expensive addiction, comparable with Hookers and Cocaine!

I've only ever bought tools that I knew I would need but saying that I did end up with masses of tools that were left to me when a friend died, he was a shop fitter in the end but originally a carpenter so i have loads of old quality woodwork tools, but his collecting didn't stop there, there was generators, compressors, air tools loads of 110 gear a band saw chop saw and much much more with a lot of it brand new in boxes

I was given my first tool kit at about 5 years old by me dad. And am proud to say it's still about but I gave it to my daughter as I now have after 31 years of hoarding urm I mean collecting, 3 garages a loft and a 3.5 tonne van full of tools! I do my best to use as many as I can but for some unknown reason we only have two hands?!

I just buy buy buy with tools and id easily say i use half of what i have like iv 4 half inch socket sets but i no il still buy more i cant help it iv tried finding a tool buyers anonymous but theres a tool store bbetween me and it so i never make it
