Sif Weldability MMA Inverters

Hi guys,
I've been looking at the Sif Weldability range of inverter arc welders, but information seems to be a bit sparse on them. Does anyone have any experience of them, are they good or just rebranded tat?

They are rebadged but rebadged what I dont know

I dare say if you look on ebay you may see similar looking machines.......I dont know for certain Im only guessing

they look similar to a Kennedy welder i used to use when i was an apprentice...seemed ok for what we did which was on the spot maintenance with 2.5mm rods to get something going again until the weekend

from what i can see, the 140 amp unit is 305 quid...i cant see the point in going for that one when you can get a known branded parweld xti160 for 188 from weld equip that has more amps and is known for being reliable and easy to run (and im not just saying that because i have one)

I believe they are made by Jasic, but you should be easily able to verify that by speaking to one of their reps or stockists

This is strongly denied but I believe so, 5 year warranty, similar look and specs. They are good sets though, I've used most of the range with a decent experience on all but one or two. No stinkers in the range that I could see.

I'm after an Inverter Stick welder too.... I think i will take a look at the Parweld Xti 160 mentioned above.

Anyone else own / reccommend one of these units?

I'm on my second after the first got nicked. There are a few in here that have them but I'm not sure who.

For the money I can't fault mine. Does everything the set in work does and that cost over twice the price and they both have the same duty cycle

I used my first one for lift arc tig a few times, but mostly for stick...I am looking to buy a tig set up when I get paid next week and a bottle of argon to get back into it though

That's a dual voltage set. You always have to pay more for dual voltage capability. Do you need it? It's £366 inc VAT from the links I followed and they didn't mention warranty.

Looking at the sales blurb for the SIF unit, they aren't altogether clear about whether it's a 140A or 160 A welder.

If it were my money I think I'd be giving it a miss.

Incidentally you should have seen their faces when I told them chapter and verse on what they were fabricating..........I had been involved in the original production for about 5 years until this lot did some undercutting........and then wanted help to do the job.
