Hi excuse my first post as being a bit of an odd one
I recently took part in a medical data collection regarding why welders are more prone to pneumonia etc
The Dr who is running it is desperate for more candidates. You must be a full time welder and a non smoker.
Their is a vaccination that could be made available through your work place and the study is trying to argue its benefits
The survey requires you to attend a hospital in East London and basically have your nose picked took me about an hour in total travel expenses are paid and you are rewarded for your time

It came on about a day after sitting in a hospital waiting room for a few hours so I'm blaming that

seems more likely to be honest...the majority of the times that i get ill are after visiting the local hospital...went there when my son had a really high temperature and wouldnt wake up, 2 days later i get ill, went in when my mrs broke her foot, few days later i got ill, went in to visit my nan after she had a stroke, few days later i get ill...

Her work is trying to make it employers responsibility to provide it

nah, i dont consider myself ill until im throwing up between every breath...my mrs blames most of her colds on me, according to her i am always ill and always pass it on to her...

As someone who used to weld a lot and also had a serious bout of pneumonia two years ago I think this is a welcome bit of research and would have considered doing it except for:

Too far away
Ex smoker
Ex paint sprayer
Ex brake dust blaster
Ex asbestos worker

When that's lot weighed up, plus the fact I worked in areas of high radiation for many years, I am fairly confident of two things.

1. They won't want me.
2. I am damn lucky to be walking about at all.
