My second dumb Q is..
If I wish to replicate something eg a profile like the bike tail section below..
How can I accurately produce it.. The only way I can think of is thinking of those balsa wing profiles we used to make model airplanes with.. Eg make profiles to the shape you wish for by making thin ply spars and assembling them along a straight wooden spine.. When that half is correct.. Remove the spars one by one and by flipping them over copy that spar to give a left and right spar, then reassemble along the spine gluing in place.. Finally taking a mould from the ply skeleton.. I know the pros would use cad and CNC etc but I do not have that luxury..
I'm thinking on the lines of how they would build a wooden rowing boat around a cage like wooden skeleton..
