TV has about four HDMI sockets, USB scart, Digital and a load of other stuff I don't understand. I only use the one HDMI for the Sky and occasionally the USB.
Im looking for something that will give me wireless connectivety
Is what you need, you iPhone / iPad will see it and as if by magic offer you the 'airplay' to wirelessly send screen content to Apple TV and your TV connected to the Apple TV by HDMI.An Apple TV box is what you want. Gen3 are quite cheap now as the Gen4 has been released
As per.

(Airplay is in the iOS just hidden untill it sees the Apple TV or other compatable box)

Would google chromecast do the job ?, lots on ebay for not much money.
We were tempted by a Firestick but the Kindle Fire was so crap we didn't botherAn alternative suggestion for anyone else who happens along would be the Amazon Firestick. If you want Airplay then it's ~£2 for the additional app but, if you have an Amazon Prime subscription, then the Firestick is fantastic value for money.
It also streams Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc.
For us it's awesome, but it may not be the best option for everyone. We were tempted by a Firestick but the Kindle Fire was so crap we didn't bother. Is it any good?
I also have a Raspberry Pi running xbmc but we've not used that since we got the stick - a free VLC player plays any (insert adjective here) media directly on the firestick.
I don't disagree but, for the money and hassle, I now think that last year's bargain (the raspberry pi and kodi, xbmc, raspbmc, etc) is now clumsy, slow and even expensive compared to apple-tv, chromecast or the firestick.I found kodi (used to be xbmc) great for flicks and tv programmes, i haven't bothered with dvd's since i got it a year or so back.
I have kodi but I cant seem to find terrestrial TV on it...Download kodi to a laptop or get a cheapo android box connected to your telly.

Pick your add-on's and add them to kodi, the ones in the link below are the best, and are the ones i have, genesis, primewire etc.

You won't, without a digital receiver. Terrestrial signals were turned off a while back, and the majority of receivers from < 2015 won't receive / present the digital signals.I have kodi but I cant seem to find terrestrial TV on it...
