Anyone able to weld in my rollcage ?

Although I can just about weld, I would like someone that knows what they are doing to weld my cage up,

I was planning to tack everything in place ready to be welded up,

I can supply tea coffee and what ever it costs for your time

I have a welding machine that I think is capable and a mask but feel free to bring your own.

Car is based in Accrington in a warm warehouse.

Anyone game ?

CDS, planning on mig welding it in.

the car will be stripped bare and can be on a rotating jig or on the floor.

"Like"? Fit up is the hardest part esp on a roll cage. You dont want gret' big gaps- the bloke welding it up wont thank you either

Yea I plan on getting it in and lined up ready to go, ive fitted a cage from custom cages before and it was a goof it first time.

I've fitted a few and you could stick your hand through some of the fits before they got redone....

So your going to fit the whole thing in the car assembled and tacked ready for someone to run round the joints. Like shox said if your planning on someone welding it up Id let them tack it up personally and pay them more for the trouble. Bottom Line if you set it up and he/she bridges a gap u left and it fails in a crash well it's not worth thinking about.

If it's all prepped and ready to go in you could work with the welder to get it lined up and how they want it for sticking together. I know your looking to save time and be efficient by having it tacked up ready but best to get it set up how the guy wants it. I'd prefer to do it that way if I was gonna take that on. (I'm not though I'm afraid).

^ Much easier to tack up in situ, and bench weld where you can.

Don't tack it all up, they have to be done in a specific order and you must be able to move the tubes around in order to get the clearance needed for welds near the roof etc. best to clean it all up and do all the fit up grinding if you're confident doing it but save the tack up for the guy doing the welding. And make sure they have previous cage welding experience as its a complex job that many people just aren't up to standard on.

I did around 15 cages in Carrera cup series cars,
they came in as pre bent cages and the team that i did them for wanted to notch and tack them and then me to weld them,
i insisted on doing all the notching and fitment for three reasons,
1, the guy notching wont generally give a toss as he wont be welding them,
2, its easier to fit the tubes in an order for easier welding acccess,
Its no fun climbing over tubes to get into corners and dont fit the door bars till last as you'll be climbing over stuff that doesn't need to be there yet.
3, my name was on the job.

The more I think about it the more it makes sense, I can relate to the same sort of scenario in my day job, (not welding)
