Where can I get drive belts for an an anchiant Startrite drill

I've got a brilliant drill that I inherited from my dad. It's a brilliant solid piece of cut. Cuts straight and true and it's got loads of torque.

But the belts are very old and noisy and definitely on their last.

Any idea where to source these or tell me how I measure them for generic parts.

If you have a agricultural/tractor service shop anywhere near you then it is worth taking belts in to them as they can often find the identical thing especially older belts

Take the old one off and take it to an engineering supply house they will have something suitable, belt tension is achieved by moving the motor platform in or out slightly, then re-clamping, it's a good quality drill and should provide years of good service if looked after.

I oil the chuck regularly and don't stress the motor or run it more than a few minutes at a time to keep the motor cool. Not much else I can do really.

An A39 will cost you about £4. A is the V size and 39 the length.
