Couriers

On Tuesday night I had my phone stolen in Manchester, so yesterday morning put a stop on it and arranged for a new one to be delivered to my house where I had arranged for some one to sign for the parcel. I get home and there is no phone. So check with phone company and get informed that phone was delivered at 1330 hrs and was signed for by a man with same surname as me. Bit strange cause the person who waited at home is not indian and most definately doesn't have the same surname as me.

Phone company is making enquires with courier, where do I stand with this now

Last time I had a new phone delivered the courier took my picture with me stood in the doorway of our house.

the courior will have an exact gps location where it was signed for, we have the problem with the courior's signing my name and leaving them in our porch have complained so many times about them..

I know its a daft question but have you asked all members of your family....

We are an indian family with indian names, everyone was out so I asked an English mate in the village to be at my house, he has keys etc etc. the signature is same as my surname, strangely his name isn't the same as mine!

There has been a development, phone company informs me that the courier hasn't been able to describe the house or any distinguishing features or the type of road ( I live off an unmade dirt track). Phone company has very sensibly arranged to deliver a new one tommorow, hopefully they won't be using the same courier.

I had the same from TNT, Sent a peice of gym equipment in a 50" TV box .. tracking said deliverd to the person but they said no delivery driver has been to the house (checked CCTV) .. Someone must have thought they were getting a free TV.

I did claim and got the money back for the item though.
