Anywhere cheaper than this? ebay is out of the question as it don't have what I need.

250x250x19mm,price in the link is £41 odd but I cannot find the delivery price to include in the final bill

IIRC they use various different couriers depending on the physical size of the order amongst other things (firms changing their size vs pricing structure etc). That might be why there's not a simple shipping price on the site. It used to be ~ £12 + VAT for most stuff but may have changed since i last ordered from them. Start the checkout process and you'll find out for sure before you pay but you'll to have to log in/set up an account first. Or phone them tomorrow and ask
Link goes to the FAQ page, a 250 x 250mm chunk of 19.05mm thick 6082 plate is £21.91 inc VAT, same size of 5083-O is £20.54

Try Simmal in Preston, Walton summit.

I was paying something along the lines of 7 or 8 quid for pieces at approx. 10" by 6" at 18mm thick, but I was buying a few hundred at a time.

I may have a couple at that size kicking around the shop you can have for nowt if there any good to you? im at st helens

They don't do the plate thicker than 6mm.

I have a plate here which is 300mmx12.7mmx180mm but how to cut how to cut? down to 125mm wide.

They definitely do, the last order i gave them was 350mm x 350mm at 3/4 inch thick.

I had hundreds of 6" wide stuff which they cut to size by saw, any oddball sizes were laser cut off a big plate I assume

Hmmm! the website saying I have to contact them for specific thickness.........that really pi**'es me off when that happens.

Why not just have a pull down menu with pricing before checkout,saves a lot of aggro for the customer.

Don't order off the website, that's for the general public and is approx. 3 times the price of what they would normally charge.

Its up to you, but if you PM me your number I will ring them Monday and get a price for what your after.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy of ebay,anyway some new plate went up the end of this week.

Guy wants 320x150x16 £27.60 per plate,made an offer of 23.50.

Circ saw or hand held router will do it.
Non ferrous blade in either a saw bench or a handheld saw will whip through. Or a 1/4" straight cut bit in a router with light DOC passes.

I've done it before on my crosslide miter saw with an alminium blade but that was 10mm and chopping rather than saw slide action so I'll do it that way again.

I have used my router with a 3 flute 1/2"shank milling straight cutter on a piece of 19mm to shape a halfmoon for a motor mount,I'm gonna have to use this method to shape the gantry sides.

Do you not have a mill? I couldn't dream of making a cnc its at least a DRO equipped mill.
