Dodgy twin stage regulator

Esab twin stage reg - we have a few of these in use. 10 minutes or so after changing bottles it started playing up - every time I took my finger off the trigger the reg let out a big creak and in use the needle on the left hand clock was wildly flapping about left and right.

These are fairly new - maybe 6 months old - anyone know why it might be doing this?

How wide was the cylinder valve opened? It could be a stuck needle valve. Best get it changed.

Just opened a turn and a half or so

Mine does that sometimes and I turn the gas off then screw it all the way in then back out again then turn the gas back on and set the pressure again and it cures it. Worth a try on yours. I put it down to something sticking inside.

Does it matter why they are doing it Paul, if they are only six months old they should be getting replaced by your supplier. SEP as they say.
