I've been using a minimum of 2 coats of epoxy and 3 x high build to avoid cut through and use a soft grit sponge on the edges.
before you put the gloss on, what grade of paper are you using ?, too coarse and you are going to see the marks in the paintmight just try using a very fine grit maybe 800 or above or even scotch bright
that will probably be ok direct gloss but I would go 800 if base and clear260 followed by 600 wet and dry

ahh yeah I was referring to the 600 & 800 I had completely forgotten about the 260 well spottedPersonally I wouldn't be going near an edge with 260 !!! In fact I've not even seen 260 grit, it's usually 240 and then 320 ???
Oops probably why I'm going to bare metal !!!! ( Just looked its P240 ) so 240 will show through the gloss ?
Thanks guys, so a bit more work, and primer to do before the gloss, its tempting to cut corners ( no pun intended ), I didn't realise the grade was so critical, but its got to be right after all this work !
Nobody will see the edgework so just spray them and don't touch em with any abrasive, the build up of layers will look smooth and fine when finished.
they'll soon see it when the paint starts to peel as its had no key.
