I found this new type of phone charging sockets today at a Car boot sale.
The seller quoted:
"They are from east Germany mate, no good for any UK phone."
50p each.

They seam to fit my 13amp phone grinder.
plus the have the Kite mark on them.

?Perhaps East German gear is more valuable?

In our office we had a dedicated circuit for computers which took special plugs that all the pins were turned 90 degrees to normal. Cleaner still managed to get a vac plugged in - but did admit it took "application" of her foot to get it in. Blew the computer circuit !

Thing is...unswitched sockets are now permitted
(personally don't like them...seen a few sparks fly when disconnecting/connecting stuff in Canada...and that was on 120...

We've got loads cheap trailing sockets without switches and I quite often hear a spark of see a flash of light behind the plastic when I plug/unplug things, some plugs even have burn marks on the pins.
