Went in for the DA sander at Feltham today and had a good look at all the other tools on offer. The 20m airline looks to be small bore, if it's 8mm then the wall thickness is very thin. Most of the other air tools look like green versions of Machine Mart but better value!

The air saw? Had one in the basket but as I picked up a Clarke one recently decided against it, and bought a 600w hedge trimmer for £30. Looked at the spray gun but there wasn't one open and it didn't give the nozzle size.

I wanted the air hammer and a drill but they were all gone. Got scaler and a rattle gun. My old one is passed it.

My tip.
Staple the receipt to the instructions and put away safe that was you can always claim on the 3 year warrantee if necessary.
I have a box of such instructions and receipts for all sorts of things and from all kinds of sources kept together.

Compressor bought today .tried one shop at lunch-time...sold out. Got in Fraserburgh this pm while visiting friends. half their stock was already goone.

I bought another spray gun for a spare and an air saw.

Looked at the spray gun but there wasn't one open and it didn't give the nozzle size.

They are 1.4 tip size, so suitable for general use.

My local branch also had a load of air shears in stick. I bought a set and tried them out. They are rated at 2.5mm ally & 1.1mm steel. They struggled on 2.5mm ally sheet, had to used wd40 to get them to cut. But they flew through 1mm steel sheet, quite impressed.

I also bought a set of 3 folding tables & I'm very impressed with them. Height adjustable & you can join them together in different configurations.

I was looking in the "clearance corner" in the local lidl the other day and they had the air chisel s for 20 euros each. I was going to buy one to build a planishing hammer, but i have enough projects at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up in this, I don't use lidl or aldi but I now need to keep an eye on when things like this come in!

Do you just check daily/weekly?

Went in yesterday and got an airline, inflator set, saw, scaler and shears. They may not be the best but they'll get me going.

Doesn't say what diameter it is, though - I prefer 10mm over 8mm lines

6.2mm ID and the euro (?) male connector is very restrictive can not be more than 4mm ID well it was untill it was replaced with a PCL. I now have PCLs on anything that need clean air and Euros on anything that needs oil dropping down the back of the connector before use, using the airline reel as the adapter from PCL to Euro.

I'm sure I read somewhere they use standard air couplings.
Went to halfords to get a female to go on my compressor but surprise surprise they hardly do anything!

Any idea what they're called so I can order one online?

Go back to the store and get one of the four way manifolds, take it apart you end up with four female quick releases fittings and a male connector for less than a fiver.

I picked up one of the quad connectors for exactly that reason, the swiveling connectors and an airsaw. Thought about the orbital sander but didn't like the feel/ weight of it.

I only use PCL type fittings so have just removed the Euro one on the spray gun. Took quite a bit of force as it seemed to have some sort of solid white sealant.
Going to get one of the £5 air regulators that attach to the gun off eBay as it only uses 3 bar / 45 psi so easier to adjust than the main regulator on the wall.

I bought one of the air shears when on offer probably 5 years ago and snapped the anvil cutting 3mm alloy - which was the reason why I started keeping the receipt with instructions so claim off warrantee. Went back and bought another one with intention of then using that receipt to return the broken one but didn't have the nerve !
