I had to ask ElGoog about that one, for some stupid reason nearly all the pictures are of the outside of the cow, I've seen that part before. I've got to say, although I despise most art, I did find that pretty cool. Reminded me of the plastinated humans art thing. Both are a thousand times better than that unmade bed that sold for millions.

Damien Hirst is a bit of a t*ss*, but walking between the two halves of that cow was a pretty unique, even cool, experience.

Its an attraction, but not art. In my view. The only reason its special is because of the hype. I got dragged around the Turner gallery in Margate once, a desk with paint poured over it, a huge blob of cast metal with a jam jar lid stuck on top, and a MFI sideboard full of shoes. The staff stopped me from taking a picture of this junk " because I might upset the artist", I guess I'm just to plebeian to see true art ?

I took comfort in the fact that a world famous architect had managed to build a bog standard industrial unit out of cladding and charged them millions for it. And it had a big crack up the exteriour wall, hopefully a storm will wash it into the harbour ?

Anything can be art. The only useful definition of art is that 'art is what artists do'. So if some fella, who trained for five or six years for the right to call himself an artist, produces something and calls it art, I'd say that's probably what it is! Others may be indifferent to it, love it, or totally hate and despise it, but the reaction (any reaction) is often what the art is all about.

That's more a definition specifically for 'fine art' really, as apposed to the creative or decorative arts.
