Hi everyone,
I'm stuck and can't decide what to do next and need some solid advice.
I have finished painting the topcoat of my motorcycle fuel tank using Spraymax 2K paint, out of a can outside, and the results have been pretty good. I've got some minor peel and a few little bits that need flattening, but not sure what course of action to take.
1 - Wet & dry flat and then polish the paint back to a shine and leave it. My question here is will split petrol affect the paint?
2 - Wet & dry flat and then coat in a 2k clear lacquer. Would this be fuel resistant? Also, it's been a couple of days already since I painted the topcoat so it's probably dried already, is it okay to coat with lacquer if I've flattened it all back?\
3 - Do the above but with some fuel resistant clear lacquer?
Ideally I'm happy with the finish and would just be up for working out the minimal orange peel and spots, but don't want it ruin the minute i fill it up with super unleaded. I'm a clumsy messy bugger.
Can anyone tell me the next steps I should take?
