Clumsy old barstool!!

Upon deciding to inspect the HF generator in the TIG I picked up from eSCHEn the other week, I needed to clear a little room on the bench to put another welder on it.

I've only got six now, I've passed one on to a mate who was looking to learn.

But as I start to clear up a little I hear a pile of cable slip and something hit the floor. Noooooooooooo! It wasn't just any cable, but the Tig torch assembly, and the back cap is now in two pieces.

What an a**e! I was going to have a go with some Helium today too!

That has happened to me on more than one occasion but never been lucky enough to break anything. Did stab a red hot tungsten into my leg a few months back and the scar's still there lol.

Any damage to the actual torch body or just the back cap? The caps are buttons each mate thank goodness. Doesn't help you get one today though

Almost a consumable, just buy a new one. Most people have several of different lengths anyway.

Wait until the day you lift your shade and dig the red hot rod into your lip coz its hooked on your glove

Absolutely no other damage. The torch body and ceramic are free from damage and battle scars, which I cannot believe!

Shall have to buy some consumables now though, won't I?!

Can't you superglue it until you get a replacement

Done exactly that a few weeks ago. Stabbed me in the thigh when slinging the torch over my shoulder. I picked off the second scab today, still have a crater in my leg, I expect another scab to form.

I done one the same in the meat of my hand and it took aaaaaaages to heal up.

You can use the long one for everything until you get to a super tight bit then that wee cap is just about the best thing ever
