Just got a quote Back off Purdie for a hemisphere 1m dia x 6 mm thick,
Glad I was sat down when I read it ,lol £599
Anyone know off anywhere cheaper ?
It's only for a big fire pit, might just make one out of bar

I have to admit to never having even contemplated ordering a hemisphere, less still getting a quote for one, but that price doesn't strike me as too far from what I would expect. Probably £100 worth of VAT in the equation too.

Hard to find too, only other option I thought of was sea buoys, BUT they cost 600+ second hand too!

A friend of my brother in law was locked up over night when selling lovely BBQ's made from stainless steel, even though he got them legit, He got them from somebody tasked with disposing of them after a fire in part of the brewery, turns out they should have been destroyed and gone for scrap. Police locked him up and confiscated whatever he had left, And he didn't get them back when the misunderstanding was sorted out.

but it wasn't theirs to supply. Keg and cask theft is a big and expensive problem for brewers.
