Finally some warmer weather, the Lechler data sheet says that the epoxy must not be allowed to fall below 15 degC during its cure, I've been waiting for bout a week to get started.
My cheap gun, it was from aldi or lidl and cost £10, I think I will need to invest in a better one. The Devilbiss FLG5 seems to get a good write up.
My PPE, first time I have used it seemed to work well.
1kw of light heat to keep the panel warm.
The gun has a 1.4mm tip and the primer was thick, I found it dificut to get it on smoothly, I think I could do with a 1.8 or 2mm tip gun.
Close up.
I am not to worried about the orange peel just yet as I still need to put on a few coats of high build primer which I will flat back.
Any suggestions how to get a flatter finish on the top side epoxy I will do tomorrow?
