If there is no seat you can leave the belt in, you only have to test the belts that have seats.
I used to test a car that had no seats, but the belt was used by the driver, I asked the ministry as a bit of a joke ( coz i used to check the belt anyway) and their answer was to test as presented-- ie no seat dont check the belt.
took them awhile to answer though.

thats the same on one of my cars, I've only got a drivers seat in the car, so every year I get the same advisory on the MOT's about missing seats, and they told me the same about not testing seat belts (don't have them either)

I have never seen a belt strap fail
I did accident recovery work for many years
Have seen roof sections pulled down by the load on a seat belt
We used to clip a chain in to the seat belt to upright a rolled car

Get the height adjustment wrong / too slack and if the edge is at the wrong angle then it will cut into flesh, such as face, quite badly. I've seem the result on a young lady and not very pretty

I presume you are referring to brake pipes and not disc's or drumsCover it in grease. That's what some idiots do to get shoddy brakes through test. Perhaps it will work for a seat belt

Grease on the drum or discs would certainly get you through the test, straight through the back wall and across the car park as well!I presume you are referring to brake pipes and not disc's or drums

Ha ha yeah missed pipes off that. Wax oil was a common one I've seen to cover up rusty pipes for test.I presume you are referring to brake pipes and not disc's or drums
I cant get my head around why anyone knowing brake pipes are rusty would want to cover them up with grease, wax oil, underseal or anything to try and get them passed an MOT. Change them or get them changed. One of the single most important features on a car and you would realy risk your life and that of others.

Slight corrosion on steel brake pipes can be treated with "waxoyl"

I was having some tyres fitted a few years back and chatting to the guys there who I knew OK.
They were working on a car that had failed the MOT, gone away for 'repair' and sent for a retest.
The 'mechanic' thought that painting the rusty brake pipes would do.
Also that replacing the disk brake pads would return the separate parking brake to acceptable standards.
That in doing this is was OK to leave one of the (two) brake caliper bolts out.
