Removable Power Cable clarke 135TE?

After fitting up a Dinse socket to my 135TE quite easily, I'm interested in fitting a removable power lead so I can keep everything tidy in my workshop.

Is it possible to fit up a kettle style socket to the case of the welder? if so, could anyone tell me what rating socket would I need?

no kettle style socket wont carry enough amperage you can use ceeform plugs and sockets though.

you would have to mount a chassis plug on the welder like this one

ive seen people use the wrong chassis mount leaving exposed live pins in the power lead

I once saw a dj using 2, 3 pin plugs on the end of a lead to power his name box and he had had a few belts off it, I felt sorry for him as he knew nothing about electricity so fitted him an iec plug and socket

How do the pins wire up to the socket? would i need to solder?

thats how I did it on my 151TE

if you do use a commando plug/socket, be careful of its mounting position, as you need to make space for the cover on the plug. if I mounted it any higher it would have obstructed the the switches
