They are made in china mate and badged up a rtech machine think they say they change them for the uk market but to be fair I heard he gives a good service backup etc
Depends, hypertherm is in my opinion the best plasma cutter on the market but is expensive for diy use a cebora is ok but still over the top for diy, butters do a single phase one chinese but at least you get the back up from butters
I don't know about their prices but as far as I know some (maybe most) of the R-Tech stuff is Chinese, but not all of it. However they are a proper outfit in the UK and the guy who runs it is a qualified service technician, ( I share a few distributors, with him) and I have heard that they provide very good service.
Not fair to compare them with Hypertherm as they are the market leaders and is excellent kit but at a premium and they are industrial quality machines, certainly overkill for a DIYer are you sure that they are in the same price bracket??
Yeah last time was outdoors SI..........your butch sarcasm isn't welcome on here mate, this is not UKW
Ref Tip dip!
Well I think its cack.........
I have been to loads of end users over the years who complain about bad feeding or wire or torch playing up only to find gallons of the stuff inside the shroud, it erodes the gas diffuser and insulation.
If your mig is set up right, you shouldn't get loads of spatter anyway, especially spatter falling down the shroud, unless your doin vert up.
I am sure you would get quite a bad hang over from it too.............look out for the next hoodies on your corner, gettin wasted on tip dip...........Browns Britain!
It's right interesting this. The first thing I learned about tip dip is it's rubbish if you get it everywhere. You have to get the tip and shroud hot FIRST, then a quick dip, and that's it for the day. At the end of shift, a quick wipe out, all the wee snotters drop out, everything clean.
Murex tip dip is good. I had a tub of "Protex" (i thought that was a condom), and it was rubbish.
Tip dip on a cold shroud makes everything go to cock - crap on the weld, porosity, bad gas cover etc etc.
As for Browns Britain. Sorry mate, it ain't nothing like Maggies version. That really was ****e. Cant say i'm a fan of the yooot of today, but really, life in the 80's was horrible, in the wrong places.....
Well maybe my hatred for it stems from I have been unlucky enough to encounter all the folk who can't get enough of it.........some people I have seen dip it in everytime they stop welding, kinda like some sad ritual.
Birmingham was one of them wrong places too, wasn't it? I was at School then, so I don't rightly remember the real ****e. My bad experiences, were more related to the cack Stock Aitken and Waterman were knocking out, the introduction of the poll tax passed me by really!
Ahh, Rick Astley, Kylie and Jason, Bananarama. It could have been worse...
Then again, Handsworth riots, Chelmsley Wood (I bet it's still ****e there), Castle Brom (there too)... Could have been better!
I flew into Brum last weekend on a quick visit, and went over the factory where I served me time! I was really chuffed to see it. Do you know Argyle St, Nechells, Matt?
