Completed missed the point. I've not got a problem with sticking bits of aluminium or whatever back together with some solder or epoxy or whatever else is to hand if needs must. I keep a pack of the stuff (SIF555) around for those times when i'm asked to repair something that turns out to have been cast from something that looks like aluminium but isn'tits like everything else when u want a quick repair there bull**** or not they do the job and u will pay that bit extra get them the next day and job done , ive repaired stuff with them twice with good results. im not realy interested whats in them as long as it works and they do
I don't see the point in paying twice as much (per rod) to line the pockets of some ignorant shill when you can buy the same product from a proper welding supplier (same day if the local welding shop stocks it). More to the point the same zinc based solder from a welding supplier isn't hyped up to be some wonder product and so doesn't misseducate or uneducate the public. That's the main problem i have with the shills, people that don't understand toughness/ductility and other properties fall for the BS after watching a demo that's set up to make the product look amazing
