I can understand a mig welder manufacturer wanting to keep their costs down by fitting chaep and nasty plasticky wire feed systems on their cheap and cheerful welders, but it seems that you need to spend over £500 to get a 'proper' wire feed that is reliable and works properly.
What would it cost them to fit a proper wire feed to a £300 or £400 welder, about an extra thirty quid?
