Air line diagram

I have drawn up a simple plan for my airline set up from my main compressor. lm going with 22mm copper piping.

there is 2.5m of piping from the first diagram to start of the second diagram. The verticle lengths on the condenser will be 1m in length.

any suggestion or feedback is most welcome

Make the drops into the collection pipe (bottom of top diagram) narrower so air doesn't bypass the loops.

That's a good idea, I missed that. I think also placing the drops in the middle of the verticle could be better?

Not sure what you mean - the drains want to be at the bottom of the verticals. You could move them to short horizontals, but that would need more fittings.

10 or 15mm piping on the drops? i already have a load of 10mm piping i could utilise

I'd use 10.

Are going to use a fan or convection cooling?

If you're using convection consider laying the loops a few degrees above the horizontal, enough to let the water drain away. This configuration will benefit from the drops fitting to the horizontals to make it easier to keep them vertical.

10mm sounds good, couple of bar saved!

Was just using convection to start with.

Here is another idea. A quick search shows car air con has a max pressure of 250-300 psi. What about therefore using a salvaged air con rad as the cooler - together with the fan ?

There is enough play in solder fittings to allow the pipes to have a slight downhill slope.

Instead of using solder elbows, try pulling the bends in a bender. You will not restrict the flow as much.

You would still have to join the pipes together in the middle, although straight couplings are cheaper than bends and you would save a little bit of pipe.

Does anyone know the optimum length of pipe required for the condensor in a air delivery system, I read somewhere that 50' was about correct, but I don't know if this figure is correct?

That might not be a bad idea, I was going to use a water tank to initially cool the air but an air con rad and a fan would be simpler, then another one just before the blast cabinet to cool the air again. Hmmm worth a think.
