Cold welding cast iron

Has any one had any luck, cold stick welding cast iron, ive been out of the welding game for some ears now, but when i was last in it, some 30 ish years ago, there were cold welding rods around but the general consensus was, that the weld would not last.

I just wondered if technology had found a cure for the problem yet.

I know that pre heating helped the situation, but it was just the cod welding, i was interested in.

Not a particularly stressed joint, but it can be done.

I'm not gona get myself into yet another procedure debate but basically maybe with non structural defiantly with structural, theres some debate here

I am the king of cold cast welding at least thats what i tell myself . I love Crown Alloy Rods and have used them for 20 years or so. I will gladly send some to you if you want some to play with...Bob
