Can you ever have enough clamps?

Once again I've found myself short of the clamp i need. This has bitten me before I have plenty up to 600mm and a cuipple of stupidly heavy 2440mm sash clamps but nothing inbetwen.

I want some good heavy duty clamps about 1000mm but can't find anything in this disposable age that looks up to the job. I would love some big carvers but can't bring myself to spend £300+ on a pair of clamps.

The Irvin record offerings are garbage IMO and silverline and the likes just don't atract my attention for 1 second.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

If you can try going to auctions, even house clearances can chuck up some good cheap stuff if you are lucky.

The fitter at the woodyard has some Kennedy clamps, about 900mm very good, and not costing the earth

I do exactly that but good finds are becoming increacenly harder to come by, at least round hear anyway.

Bought loads, we have racks of them, all different sizes, different reaches. Used them for a few years, non broken or bent even in an industrial environment.

They do look good paul, and reasonably priced but only seen to go up to 500mm.

?Can you use the ends of the sash cramps and fit them too a length of bar or do you need more depth?

Today I didn't need more depth, but the sash clamps I have are old "t" bar ones, and the fixed head is pined on and may be a pain to remove.

Found bigger ones they go up to 2000mm.
