EBay purchase, interesting set up!

Hi chaps,

I just purchased a Clarke 105en off eBay.

It seems to be set up with normal mig wire in it, and the torch and earth lead the right way round for gas welding, not gasless.

However when I picked it up the guy showed it works and welded something with it?!

Is it Ok to use like this, I guess it's like a normal gas mig that's run out of gas?

Or should I swap the terminals and buy some flue core?

if it welded ok it must have gasless wire in it already

I've checked spool in it and it's still labled as sealey 00006 5kg mild steel 0.6mm wire?

if its standard mild steel and he welded without gas the weld would look terrible and full of tiny holes

Ok, any recommendations for wire?

At the moment it's got 0.8mm SIP tips.
