why wont she spark ?

got the argo shield fitted after gettin help from here yesterday and now the welder wont spark up when I attempt welding.
I wouldnt ming but it worked yesterday even without the gas attached...the wire feeds grand by the way...welders a new CEA smartmig M20
any suggestions on problem solving?

May be a stupid question but the weld earth hasn't come off has it?

no,don't think so,the clamp was attached to the table and the steel sitting on it.

Check it's attached to the machine too.

Changing to Argoshield would have no bearing on weather the machine strikes up or not....

It will be co-incidence that whatever has gone wrong happened at the simerla time to changing cylinders.

As they have said, make sure that the earth/welding return is connected.

got it sorted...the clamp has to be clamped to the workpiece...i was quite surprised at this from using arc welding before anyways got it sorted...thanks lads!!

I think he ment that he had put the Earth clamp on the table or whatever he was welding on and the job he was working on, on top of the table and it wasn't making a connection???

Maybe the workpiece he was welding had paint or a lot of rust on the back...........

Or maybe it was a wooden table he had clamped the earth too??

no it wasnt a wooden table!!
it did have a fair bit of p11aint on it and the steels surface could have been cleaner

Ahhh, I had visions of a rustic farmhouse pine welding bench .
Glad it was a simple solution .
