Now I've got the garage as a workshop I have much less bench space (There was a fitted bench in the shed) and I needed somewhere to put my grinder. Wall mounting was the obvious solution but instead of make up a bracket, I just modified the grinder
.
I started by unbolting the guards, they have 3 bolts holding them to the main body if the grinder so I rotated them up, 120° and angled the tables on it down so they were 90° to the base. Then I unbolted the base from the motor and put it back on backwards, so the power cable exits underneath when it's on the wall. I also replaced the switch with one with an indicator light on it so I can see it has power (and took of the horrible squishy plastic cover).
See the grove in the right wheel? It only ever gets used for grinding tungstens
.
It somehow made it quieter, it used to get to a certain speed and then vibrate and shout like crazy, now it's quite bearable. It's mounted quite high up so I can see what I'm doing better.
Anyone done anything similar?

That's the data plate on the back you're seeing in Maker's photo Dan. Look at the safety icons. The way Maker has it set up is correct.
