Switched my bulkhead outrigger yesterday. The other shall be replaced today. I have a donor car I take parts from.

The donor part looks so good I am wondering why aren't keeping the donor together and robbing the good bits from this one. I can see you are working your way up and the footwell is presumably next on the list

You're absolutely right about the footwell. The donor car is crashed in front. It can not be saved.

Got me an old Toyota rollbar . Will try to get it to fit my LR . Use whatever I find.

Hey, if you get Norway warmed up nicely, could you manage a few degrees better for the UK as well

We were outside this morning finishing (grinding) some ally panels for the tunnel on my sons 109 and were very glad when we could retreat inside the garage and put the heater back on

Nice use for the old gas cylinders, there was someone asking what he could do with these a few months back, now we have another option for him

Now I finally think I have found the solution to rollbars to frame problem . Do not judge it to hard . It's just a prototype. Its not finished.

Roll bars come with a specification for scrutineering. Look it up within the world of Land Rover trails as its been a fair while for me. Back when I did them it was down to the chassis with a top and bottom plate with 4 HT bolts holding the sandwich together, previous to that U bolts were ok, don't mess outside the box unless its just for show imo its a bit like inventing your own design of emegency parachute.

The series 3 that my son had, had a roll bar braced diagonally to the rear of the tub fitted by a previous owner, we took it for test at an independent LR specialist, & he said at "at least the roll bar is welded to the chassis, we get a lot dropped in & not welded or fixed to anything"

Roll bar in a military 90 goes into brackets pot riveted to bulkhead, seatboxes and outer panel just below body capping. Not a roll over bar but adds a bit more protection than hood sticks. Also means an anchor point for seatbelt.
