.Weve had a spot of snow round these parts. Id be amazed if any auto jumble wasnt cancelled even if the roads are passable. I should check before you set off.

Sorry mate, can't agree with that, all the people I deal with in the UK are a pleasure to do business with, and, I find the same in France too. And the shut down thing, well, its Christmas, like Easter etc, its coming and you know its coming so its called forward planning-just because you don't take the time off, don't expect others to dance to your tune.
I used to work in the motorcycle retail arena.We could not cut prices compared to the unit shifters because we had investment in tooling/training/and warranty back up.
If you search for cut price goods, then you should expect cut price after sales service and advice.
The UK is no way a third world country, there are world leaders in the UK in technology and motorsport, english tailoring and shoemaking stands head and shoulders above poncy continental stuff.
Our armed services are the best in the world, our fire and rescue service often clean up in the internatiional competitions, people slag off our NHS-ever been charged 20 quid for an aspirin in a hospital? 100 quid a day in hospital?
The UK is not a third world country, I may live abroad but I believe in my country and my people.
It was not for Britain and the British and our refusal to give up against the odds and the bullies, many countries would not be speaking their native tongue and enjoying their culture today.
And we still innovate and stuff other nations in many fields-we just don't crow about it-because-we are British-its bad form to boast old boy

Staff in the USA get very few annual holidays (average 9days). Staff in the UK get a minimum of 20days plus bank holidays (UK get eight and Scotland nine and Northern Ireland ten).
So in the USA you take two days for Xmas, one for Thanksgiven, it leaves you about a week for one summer vacation.
The above makes me so glad to be British not American!
And how does Northern Ireland get two more bank holidays than I do?

Well I opened today and got no business, so maybe I should have stayed in bed like everyone else. Didn't see any traffic bound for shopping centres either. Quieter than a Sunday morning.

i did 2 hours today on a job only because i wanted the building empty of folk to do some testing .ready for a fresh start in jan and get away from our lass 
Plus 2 billion extra now.....
I guess you dont live near the Merry Hill. lol Rammed today it was no parking and it took an hour to get off the site once you got on..!
Or Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. M5 was rammed from 14-18! And Ikea was busy too.

Yes, we're replacing the marriage station (where bodyshell meets chassis/powertrain) will take a week to remove old one then install, commission and test the new one.

That's about all the majority are good for, working in pointless service industries and spending there money on pointless tat. Just like the yanks
