should get a reading in one direction, google the part number and you should be able to find a data sheet for it

Oh I have the specs and 4 new ones from China,but not getting a reading on the old nor the new ones.
Generally if the mikey is lighting up and and revolving plate but not cooking is normally down to the diode going open circuit.

Very high voltage diodes will sometimes not conduct with the paltry voltage available from a standard multimeter, you need to use a Megger with several hundred volts.
On the plus side, no dead short possibly means the diode's OK - er, unless it's gone O/C, of course

Yes you should, but in order for the diode to conduct and pass current there must be enough voltage present across it: the 9V PP3 in your average multimeter SOMETIMES won't deliver enough juice to make the diode conduct - which is one reason why all your diodes measure the same; they're possibly all OK or possibly all duff or a mix of the two.
I repair industrial X-ray generators that make anywhere from 80kV to 225kV (yes, that's 225,000 Volts) - the diodes in them usually measure nothing either way around on a normal multimeter, we have to poke 500 or 1000V through them in order to test. I'm no microwave expert but if the diodes are similarly designed you may not be able to test them without a Megger (also known as an insulation tester).

I found a microwave that would light up and rotate but not heat due to a dead 8A fuse on the circuit board. Worth checking!

Yeah thats fine,first thing I check on all circuitry is blown fuses.
This one looks like a big resistor but its just the plastic case its in.

I had one that did the same and it was a wire that had come off one of the door switches.
(I was really chuffed at finding that, it was an expensive one I got off Freecycle for repairs, got it going then I dropped the sodding thing!)

UPPS!! I did a similiar thing tried it in the cupboard in the ambulance left it on the side then moved the ambulance, bang and the wave was gone.
I did manage to cable tie it all together, but had the door switch thing to deal with after.
