Doesn't look like it was going to come out any other way. Ever used those 3 pronged tap extractor things?
You must be the North East's main man for sorting out everyones machining problems?
looks like a head off a early honda 4 pot John...possibly 400/4This one was over size & at a angle
If they had just left the broken stud I could have removed that
It is actually a Honda grass cutter enginelooks like a head off a early honda 4 pot John...possibly 400/4
No problem with your welding be happy to helpI have had success with them 3 pronged things, got a few sizes, if the tap has boken its generally cause it was tight in the hole, if its bottomed out, the three prongers dont like it, if its snapped in the hole cause you didnt keep the cut thread clean, the three prongers might well work. I`ve even used ground down masonry nails and a coller with 3 holes into keep them in place and then mole grips, good hard hit with a hammer and parallel punce to help loosen and a silent prayer. Like Johns approach- I know where to go now, Probably much faster, easier and a lot less frustrating.
John I need a couple of Ally welds-- You up for it? about 1" each
aye thats them--Waltons tap extracters, got a pile of spare finger inserts as well. or whatever you call them, mine are all 3 pronged
