Rub salt in the wound why don't ya.The lights you link to are identical lights to what I bought for the garden and paid £19 for complete with PIR, I bought one without PIR for my welding area and that was about £12 I think
To say they are top quality is a bit of an overstatement, if they are the same units, they are imported from China in their millions and are widely available on ebay in various guises.
The are ok and mine is working fine, once I corrected the internal wiring to the correct standard.
The price that the contractor pays his supplier is nobody else's business. I would be very offended to be asked for copy invoices.
"There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot do a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person's lawful prey. It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better."
Na I don't think that would be the case because the lights them selves have not been swapped for cheaper alternatives. The spark said he would fit a type/brand of light and that's what he fitted. So he may of exaggerated with the price of these things in a sales pitch but we all get that day in day out and let's face it everything can be sourced cheaper if you look. Bottom line is he quoted for 6 lights of a certain spec and so long as those lights meet the spec/type/brand that he said he would provide then he has met his side of the deal. Not having read through all posts I'd say the quote was. Based on lights being £100 each if that's not the case then I would say the quote is invalid, you both made a contract and the contract seems to have changed due to cheaper lights being fitted
Challenge Him
In the original post it only states the lights are 100 quid top spec not a brand and modelNa I don't think that would be the case because the lights them selves have not been swapped for cheaper alternatives.
