Shortening Tsubaki flexible conduitey sort of stuff?

I have some Tsubaki flexible channel sort of stuff, it takes the wires to the head of my milling machine, I moved the stuff and angled it, it went so high when the head is at the top of it's movement, that it was hitting the raj roof. Problem is I come to fit a cover over the end and it's ***** having the ductey stuff at an angle and I am fairly sure I decided it would have to be shorter to be vertical at the ends.
Can I whip out sections, like shortening a chain?

Is this the flexi cable guide stuff with separate links? Eg like this

If so then yes, you can remove links but you obviously need to check you have enough of it left to accommodate the full travel. If you remove too much it may stretch and pull out at full travel.

You won't believe how many names I have searched for the stuff under, even put in the make and part numbers and I got no where.
I have stuff the same as the pic at the bottom of the page.
I altered it's mountings and I obviously checked the length and it travels and clears it's surrounding OK, but I think I had to angle one
end to get more curve on it. That was in 2008 and looking at it now I wonder if I thought of shortening it?


Amazing what a bit more information does.
I have found the stuff Tsubaki Cabelveyor TKF and got a pdf of the catalog.

We always used to call it cable chain in work but not sure what it's proper name is? I think different companies refer to it by different names. (We used igus brand stuff, amazing what unimportant garbage you can rember yet I can't seem to remember what I did yesterday!!)

Not as bad as me. I had all these memories of having to mount the "cableveyor" so it was angled backwards at the front, so it curled out
as it went up and didn't interfere with the pendant arm.
I took it off today and for the life of me I can't see why it wasn't mounted vertical, mounted it vertical and it's fine.

We've been using some Igus 'caterpillar' on an ultrasonic immersion tank we've been building. They do so many different sizes it's crazy - and that's just one manufacturer!

A while back we had a polishing machine that ran along rails on a bed of about 20 metres (!) which kept tripping out. Turns out the French company that built it used standard rather than flexible cable for the 3 phase supply, and consequently was shorting out in certain positions. It was about as thick as your arm and 40 m long. And covered in glass polishing slurry.

After dragging that through the cable guide and pulling the new one in I would have happily never seen the name igus again!!

Igus are one of the best makes of powerchain, I've used loads of it over the years.
