Cheap Avo meter needs repair

Give reliable, accurate, constent readings. Load a circuit properly so that you get sensible results. Give you a sensible average reading on a pulsed supply. Look like a "proper job" and smell like one too. What more could you ask for?

If you've never found a reason for owning one as yet, I personally wouldn't bother. They're a good bit of kit, granted, but they'll do nothing you can't easily achieve with other meters, (if you want a peak reading for a varying input, btw, just use a cap). They're more a historical status item than an actual necessity, IMHO. I had one for years and never used it once. You spend years wanting to get hold of one, but when you do....

that is the truth analogue is far more stable than digital . digital are a lot easier to read off and are light and portable just the same as analogue meggers and digital . i use analogue for fault finding and digital for testing

Bet ya it doesn't have the leather case though,mine did and to this day have never seen these being sold coming with their case.

gentlemen don't dismiss these as in the future they will like most instruments become antiques.
