Damn MIG-I had a job to do-which was welding some 1mm wall thickness tube to .75mm sheet.
Have to TIG that I sez to meself-smashin-have a bash on the old TIG again.
But I thought-maybe I can risk a couple of tacks with the MIG (loaded with 0.8 wire) before tigging the job.Got a pretty good hang on the controls of my Gys now so set them and after two tacks I carried on and welded the job up and it turned out pretty neat so Tommy TIG never got fired up.
It occured to me that if I had tigged it,I reckon there would have been more distortion of the 0.75mm sheet.
Whatever, the Gys is performing brilliantly and the MIG process is now my main method. The Gys set can run 1.0 wire with gas and 1.2 flux core, so Mickey MMA might be staying on the shelf a bit now.
