Best Rust/Paint Stripper?

I've been re-furbing my Record vices so far with just a selection of wire wheels, but the latest pipe vice has a lot of intricate mouldings that I can't quite get at very easily. I'm wondering therefore what the best way to strip that back is? I've seen a few discussions on dipping in some caustic chemicals, but not sure what's best to use and where to get it? Any help would be appreciated!

Nitromors gel is great stuff, gel from intricate parts can be jet washed off with some fettling with an assortment of pointy wire brushes.

Did this on a record vice last year then gave it away!

I've used some little cup brushes in a dremel for hard to reach places. They last about 12 seconds each but you can get packs of 10 or so for just a couple quid so they achieve what I need.

Nitromors now uses a different formula, Starchem is the best.

Ok I didn't know that, the chemical you need in paint stripper is Dichloromethane. It strips paint of anything

Nitromors is sh*te these days simply because its had the main chemical replaced (Methylene Chloride) and is not worth the money anymore.

This is cheaper than the nitromors when you wourk it out,its pretty darn good stuff.

Comes to about £21 something with vat and delivery but you know its 5 litres,how much is a litre of nitromors?

Exactly same stuff as bodens paint stripper except bodens is cheaper all in vat and carriage.

Yep, been using those also, but not having much luck on this particular one! Might have to give that paint and glue stripper a go.
