Take your pick, comes down to what thickness material you want to use it on, but a metre is a big brake and will require a lot of stiffness and therefore weight.

Are you looking to make a bend brake or press brake

Here's a bend brake I found a while back when I was thinking about making a tool chest (before I found out how much drawer slides cost)

They seem to be a very easy project to me, don't bother finding plans, just draw it up yourself (pen & paper or CAD software).
They mostly seem to be 3 bits of angle, some bolts, some hinges and a handle.

@Maker Drawslides are not that expensive, although that is subjective. Screwfix 450mm are about £7.50 a pair, but I am sure there was a thread stating cheaper alternatives.

Made you this on sketchup.

It's made from 60x60x5 angle steel and should cost less than £50. I'm sure there's better designs out there but this might be a starting point. If someone can tell me how to upload the sketchup file then I will.

I was looking at 600mm or more, full extension and heavy duty starting at £30 per pair (or maybe each)
