TIG fingers have gone missing. I have just looked up the tracking number and they are labled delivered on july 3. Needless to say UPS did not deliver them here and certainly did not get a signature from me or anybody here. I was in the entire day, most of it in bed as i work nights, and when someone knocks on our door it wakes me without fail. Awaiting developments.

I once had a saga with them over a bumper for my P6, it was never delivered in the end. First they said it was delivered (lie) Then they said nobody was in (lie) then they said it had gone back 200 miles south back to the south western depot instead of leaving it in the north west where i could collect it (who knows on that one?) The blameless guy who sent it had to drive 60 miles twice to their depot, to no avail. In the end i had to just swallow a £40 loss, as i knew the guy was very ill and it was putting stress on him) I work at the Royal Mail so am well aware of how parcel posting works. The RM is a beacon of shining light and order when compared to UPS. I remember mentioning it on here years ago and got a long thread of people with similar complaints about them.

it was supposedly 'delivered' to my home at 7:27 am on July 3, 2014. Where it was in reality, delivered to i have no idea. Maybe a the drivers pocket, or a bush somewhere? Maybe the planet zargon. Do UPS have a route there ? All i know for sure is that there were definitely 3 people in the house at that time.
Right im off to do some man shopping and buy one of these to calm down

Weldmonger team are re shipping the tig fingers. Im getting them sent to my brothers address in the hope that it somehow helps lessen the odds of it happening gain. I am hoping that it has been delivered to the wrong address and will turn up, but im not holding my breath.

The package will be at your local parcel force depot awaiting you to go and pay them duty+handling fee+ vat.
The tracking is for USPS not ups, meaning as far as USPS is concerned they have delivered it to their part or the journey. Ie, it has arrived in the uk.

Not wishing to hijack this thread, I too am quite interested in the tig finger and not wishing to pee on Jodie's bonfire as I thoroughly respect his welding videos which are quality.... However.....
I work in the marine sector and sometimes install certain marine heating systems, the exhaust system to these marine heaters are covered in what seems to be aforementioned 'tig finger' material, I would like to point out that I'm not completely certain this is the same material however it certainly looks the same and prevents fibreglass boats catching fire. To cut a long story short if this stuff if it is Kevlar? I can get hold of it at less than 10 quid a meter. I will try and liberate 10cm's from a boat and keep you posted. I'm not sure what the tig finger is made of but how many different types of material can it be? It also seems to be approximately the same diameter. Will keep you posted, mat

An even cheaper option is to cut the fingers off a big pair of MIG/MMA gloves. 10 for a fiver, and after you've used all the fingers, you can use what's left as an over glove for more insulation on the back and side of the hand when using high amps.

)Never seen a 'real' one but i'm 99.99% sure TIG fingers are just woven/braided fibreglass cable/hose sleeving, as you say less than a tenner/metre for suitable diameters. It exists in several sub flavours... E glass/S glass, plain, heat treated and/or coated with a binder. Both the later reduce fraying, no idea which of 'em Jody uses probably S glass either heat treated or with binder?
Kevlar tends to be yellower/fluffier and the only other flavour i'm aware of is silica which is white, even higher temp resistance and spendier

if real heatproof is your wish use a carbon sleeve ...it will heat soak though
fibreglass both E and S will degrade at roughly 1200 deg kevlar starts at around 450 iirc neither will combust however,
** EDIT** actually I stand corrected i thought the only difference was the tensile strength E glass drops off 400 degrees lower than S, thats a figure i have never really looked at before as most epoxies have gone up in flames at 300 degrees
