I highly recommend Lincoln Supramig, in both 0.6mm and 0.8mm, Can be bought from steve at Weldequip.There are obviously other makes by leading manufacturers but this is the one that is my favourite choice,
I agree Supramig is the best............why?.........I was partly responsible for its development and its made in Sheffield
Actually the 0.6mm is made in Italy by CIFE and rebranded (Ultramig) but lets not spoil the myth.....Its still good stuff and when its that small it is difficult to differentiate unless it doesnt feed.

We go through 70 odd spools of Supramig every 8 weeks - we've had allsorts of wire, Esab, Nexus (Spit), etc etc - Can't fault Supramig and can't remember ever having any feed issues with it.

They are still using the box I designed..........could never understand how I ended up doing that.........Im no artist (except in one sense) but my missus is and she thought they were mad letting me loose with graphic designs.
Notice the stars............Supramig Ultra had 5, Supramig 4 and Ultramag 3.............the Ultramag was Italian and they wanted a new name so THEY chose SupraMAG. I kicked up a fuss and they changed it to ULTRAmag.........so when I did the boxes I only put 3 stars on it.

One little detail with Supramig is when you put the spool on the spindle of the machine, the end of the wire is tied off on the side facing you - easy to flick the end out of the hole, snip it, and put it straight in the feed rolls - with a lot of wires we've had its tied off on the opposite side and a bit of a mare to get in to undo without loosing the end.
Every machine i've used (i think anyway) the spool needs to feed from the underside and the spool goes on the left hand side of the machine when viewed from the front - not sure if this is a common arrangement.
Plus there isn't a bit stuck out on the opposite side which makes pretty pattens on the metal case of the machine as it earths itself round and round and round...

Not wishing to put a downer on anybodies ideas or opinions, but in my personal opinion Id have a look at ESAB wire if your running a lot of wire. Used it in my last job welding mainly heavy structural steel, aswell as light fabrication, and was great stuff. Specifically the grade which is not copper coated. Not sure what specific OK.00 number it was, or what it was coated with, might have been silicon, but it fed like a dream even with a less than straight torch, and torch liners lasted for months at a time when getting through a spool of 1mm wire in 3-4days.
useing Arcweld at work at the moment. the 1mm stuff seems all good.
burning BOC's 1.2 as well at the moment. but really not sure about that wire it seems to struggel feeding but i'm useing a new BOC branded torch atm and it might be that those torches are crap, might have to rob a binzel MB36 off one of the other welders and see if that helps

The Esab Aristorod is good. At one time we tested it alongside loads of others and found it was the best. However, over prolonged use it tends to clog liners. Esab made it in Finland but then moved production to Eastern Europe (Czech Republic) and it went down hill a bit.
We used to do head-to-head trials in some firms. If they were feeding long distances we would put the Esab through first and it would lube up the liner so Supramig fed better.
I always suspected that they didnt really know how good it was and they concentrated on the wrong things.
Most uncoppered wire is Phosphated. It has to have a coating or it would be rusty in no time. Phosphate is passive but its also a very good lubricant. These days its simply Iron Phosphate (Steel dipped in Phosphoric Acid). Once it was Zinc Phosphate which was very good but the Zinc is toxic.

We used Esab uncoppered 1.6mm for a bit - the best thing about it was that the feed rollers didn't become buried under red dust.
