Argoshield (or similar) in Chester/Wirral/N.Wales area ?

With my new welder (hopefully) on the way soon, i am wondering if anyone from the above areas knows the best place to get a bottle from. I think 'Y' size is best for now, as i can collect myself to save money, if possible.

I am very interested in this too, I am still using disposable bottles and at £10 a pop it can get expensive

I had converted mine to disposables as I hardly used the mig (because I couldn't work it properly) then after I found this site and practised the tutorials and got better, I was using up a bottle in 10-15 minutes, and at £14 each, cheapest I can get here, that hurt!
Now have a nice 'Y' bottle of Argosheild

Hello Zardoz,

you should have plenty of choice of suppliers in the area you mention.

I have been with BOC, basically because when I started there were no real alternatives close to my home. Be aware that with BOC, anyway, that you still pay a delivery charge even when you collect from a depot.

I would Google the gas producers and check their websites for locations that would suit you. BOC and Air products are two main suppliers but there are probably more?

There's a BOC branch in Ellesmere Port (near the motorway, can't remember exact road name), they get a big thumbs up from me. I had a bottle which developed a valve issue which meant I couldn't shut it off, and it was half full, they swapped it for a full bottle at no cost!
