Cutter ID needed

Can anyone ID these cutters by Wm Ridgway Sheffield, the look very similar to router cutters.

Look like Broaching cutters for cutting keyways in pulleys /sprockets etc., normally used in a broaching press

Thanks for that but are you absolutely sure, these are rotary cutters marked R/H and are similar to some woodworking router cutters I have but these have a sharp one way serrated cutting edge also.

Must admit they are very short for broaches, a cutting edge which is not too obvious on the picture suggests something else then,

Not liking to be beat I've just asked a carpenter and joiner friend, he says they are router cutters used for plunging and are probably quite old.

They look like they would cut a barbed recess so perhaps they were designed to cut a self locking joint in timber, the hole/socket/mortise having the opposite barb set to the plug/tenon?

Thanks for your trouble in confirming my suspicions, it was the serrations that threw me, maybe for hardwood?.I agree they must be old, Wm Ridgway have been out of business for many years, although these look to be in new condition and unused, I have a full set to part with if you know of anyone that may be interested. They don't make them like this anymore, unfortunately.
