not my day today

not even had lunch yet and ive already drilled 3 holes in the wrong place, cut 2 lengths of wood too short and managed to gain a chip in the windscreen.

contemplating going home and turning the phone off for the rest of the day

All I seem to have done so far today is fettle other people's jobs, now I'm at home to do some work on the lathe that I can't do at work because we don't have one accurate enough - and when I get back some comedian will probably accuse me of sitting at home on the internet - which is true, but only because I'm eating a Greggs' pasty, as it's an alternative to lunch

I started the day off quite well after a meeting with a new customer. Going back to the workshop I decided to have a weigh in to clear my scrap, I had about £50 worth, not a lot but I was in a good mood and it would be going in my personal account anyway until I reversed into the scrap yards CCTV pole knocking it over and smashing a £700 camera!!!

i am quite happy to say though that my day hasn't ended the way it started. I made 130 quid off some turned parts for a new customer and my boy took his first unaided steps too

The blow was softened by a customer basically telling me if I had a bigger place then he could fill it which means I have to do my hgv licence (always wanted a reason to get it) and one or two staff. Still £700 is a chunk of cash I could do without loosing

Yesterday has been off set by a nice client who today gave me some regulators, a couple of sets of flash back arresters, a miser shank, some gauges and a very meaty wedge. Now all set up for oxy propane, just need a cylinder of oxy now !!!!

something ive always wanted to do but cant see any reason to warrant it for what i do. The factory i work in make hgv brakes and ive had a go around the site in a rigid and enjoyed it

Actually driving the things on the road is a bit of a buzz..
Not done any paid driving yet but the training is quite good fun
But man is it hard work learning. Concentration level is at maximum...
