Does Anyone Recognise These Hubs ?

I know theres a few guys on here that know their cars so I'm hopeing in the off chance that someone might recognise what this front suspension setup is off of. It could either be early 90s vauxhall, metro or mini. Or I could be completely wrong and it could be something else.
Here are the pictures

I have tried to see if I could find some part numbers but the ones I found were unreadable due to rust.

Any ideas ? Thanks

They are k series metro hubs and arms.

The same as mgf items but mgfs had vented discs and slightly more camber.

Would not like to drive that, welded steering rack end , caliper bolt loose, rack gaitor split

You wouldnt happen to know if the hub with the studs on it is made of steel or cast iron would you ?

You mean the hub drive flange ?

And the TF. The upper ball joints are a b@5%$*d to remove when rusted on like them. They have a massive nut with a fine thread secured with a tab washer.

On that build can you swap the hubs side-to-side and get the rack behind the axle line? with your current setup the steering arms are pointing forward, so you have anti ackerman which would give nasty cornering/handling on anything other than an arrow straight road.

Its front wheel drive hubs on a rear wheel drive car, the splines are on the cv joints which keep the hub together , the shafts have been removed

That is true but they have the steering arms angled the opposite way as Stueee spotted

The angle of the steering arms meet in the centre of the rear axle (in a perfect world)

The steering rack is at the front because the engine prevents it being at the back of the hubs , in the second pic you can see the top of the cam belt cover .

May well be a word from the past, but for responsive steering it's still important to have a notional line drawn through the steering arm pivots and kingpin/swivel pivots converge somewhere near the rear axle centreline.

With the current setup the Ackerman convergent point will be quite some way ahead of the front axle line. Would have thought that the resulting "push" experience on corner turn in would be even more noticeable on a grass or mud surface than it would be on the road.

All of that will be sorted before I race it, I wouldnt think of it with the speeds Im going to be doing.

It was an autograss buggy that I bought to make into a drag buggy.

The steering rack is at the front because the engine prevents it being at the back of the hubs , in the second pic you can see the top of the cam belt cover .

I think I will be swapping the hubs round to put the steering rack behind as said because the steering is a nightmare it pulls the wheel round and you have to fight with it.

I bought it without an engine or box just a rolling chassis really. So I fitted a 2.9 VR6 engine that I had just rebuild. Heres some pics
