Hopefully I'll have managed to attach a photo of the welds I tried to run earlier. This was the result of a bit of fiddling With the settings on my Clarke 100EN in no-gas mode. The new wire seems a lot better with no tar like deposits.
When I tried on a piece of square tube with I think 2mm walls the weld seemed very flat. Upon closer inspection the metal had sagged down.
Do you think the settings were too high and/or torch speed too low? I don't seem to have a lot of settings to play with. Two switches labelled 1 or 2, High/Low and a wire speed. The switches were set to High and 2 and I had lowered the wire speed to around 4.5
