The evolutions are portable, and make a hell of a noise, the "band saw" a lot quiter, both set correctly should cut 45 degrees accuratly.

...are you asking us what is the best option to purchase???
If you are I will recommend option 3 having used options 1 and 2 previously.
Option 1 is ok for the odd cut or two, but cost of blades is relatively high and the hot sharp bits of steel hurt alot when you cut metal.
Option 2 is just a better version of option 1 and again the blade costs are high.
Option 3 may be the "dearest" to purchase (approx. £190 with VAT free voucher) but it produces excellent, square cuts once set up and blades last for a good while and are cheap to purchase. So good infact I have relegated the chop saws to collect dust under the bench!

i got the bandsaw with 2 packs of spare blades for £294 with the VAT free voucher which was a good price really - it is worth the extra £30 ontop of your £200 budget if you have the VAT free voucher!

buy matts rapidor its just been done upI'd save myself some money and buy a used power hacksaw eg Rapidor.
Will last a lifetime and if you ever decide to sell, you should get all your money back

3. I got mine secondhand from a member here and use it daily. Have tried a rage and really didn't like it. I had a BIG wicksteed power hacksaw which I sometimes miss but only on rare occasions. It was brilliant for things like cutting six inches solid bar and very quick, but a pain in the nuts for run of the mill 25mm box or 10mm square bar. The band saw is really quick for that kind of thing, far easier to use and quite quiet too.

I have the band saw, I think mines a Sealey one (its red!) and it must be nearly 20 years old.
I have added a few mods to the vice to cut short stock and also a jig to do a 8" long cut with the vice removed.
I bought a job lot of Lenox blades about 10 years ago from JL Industrial Supplies (now http://www.mscdirect.co.uk/cgi/insrhm) when they were on offer and I am still working through them.
Best tip is to set the vice to cut square and then use a jig to cut angles rather than resetting the vice to square each time.
I have added a few mods to the vice to cut short stock and also a jig to do a 8" long cut with the vice removed.

its essentially the same saw as the Clarke/Sealey/Sip model. It just has slightly different knobs/adjustment screws fitted.
What i like about the Clarke one from machine mart is that if it develops a fault I know I have (allegedly) decent spares/warranty backup from machine mart

I had a clarke Bandsaw from new for about 10 - 15 years.
bought an abrasive chop saw for 20 quid last year
now sold the band saw and wish i had had the chop saw from the start.
so much faster to cut stuff.
sparks only go in a set direction not like with an angle grinder so not a problem for me and thats why ive not had 1 till now.
yes noisey but so much quicker and blades are cheap .
cuts angles just as accuratly as the bandsaw.
The bandsaw did have its merits but im glad its gone should of had a chop saw years ago.
Horses for coarses me thinks

The problems I found with an abrasive chop saw is having to change the blade to a nearly new one all the time to maintain the depth of cut on big sections, the noise and the black dust that the saw kicks out onto every thing.

It's essentially the same machine as the Clarke in green with different handles, the quality and cut will be no better. I have two of the Clarke saws, one bought new and the other from Pete on here I intend to add a third wheel and convert to an upright bandsaw. I would only recommend one if you can be patient with setting it up and accept the Chinese build quality as it is in no way an industrial machine. If you do buy one check all the blade guide bearings before use as mine were overtightened and one cracked. Machine Mart sent me a replacement bearing but it was the wrong size, twice!

None of those listed for me,
I've had my cold saw for over twenty years,
its the slow running toothed blade type and coolant fed if reqd,
no sparks or dusty crap everywhere,
blades only reduce in diameter over a number of years due to resharpening,
mine typically last several months without a sharpen with is around £7-8 each time,
I keep a spare as turnaround is generally a week,
Virtually every metal fab shop will have one of these in there,
only downside is the initial outlay.
Heres mine, cuts up to 3" x 2" and mitres to 45degrees.
